The Strength that God Supplies

While reading a letter I received from another ministry organization this week, I was reminded that the work we do should be so important that through it we attempt great things for God. It’s not enough to do what might often seem expected, or easy, when God wants to move us into the realm of the impossible. In Philippians 4:13, Paul reminds us of the power of God’s strength, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” I believe that God is about leading his people to do the impossible. For what is impossible with man, is possible with God.

This is certainly true for Mission10:14 and the work in which we are involved. For us personally, the work is greater than what we can do. However, God has called us and we want to attempt great things for Him. That’s right, for Him. The work we do is for His glory, and the strenght we have is that which God supplies, “in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.”

William Carey, missionary to India, also remided us with his words to, “Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God.” As we serve, let us truly serve by the strength that God supplies. Then, God will be glorified!
